Job summary

Maersk in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a detail-oriented People Advisor for an on-site, full-time role. You will maintain employee records, support onboarding/offboarding, ensure data accuracy, and act as a trusted resource for employees and managers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years HR/People Ops or related administrative experience.
• Strong MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
• Ability to quickly learn HRIS and maintain confidentiality.
• Spanish bilingual skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update employee information in HRIS and related systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support onboarding activities, including documentation and system setup.
• Prepare offer letters and communicate onboarding information to candidates.
• Process employee changes (promotions, pay increases, transfers, terminations).
• Coordinate background checks and drug screenings and relay clearance status to management.
• Serve as primary contact for employees regarding People-related inquiries.
• Maintain personnel files and ensure proper retention and document management.
• Compile data and prepare reports from personnel records as needed.
• Support payroll and compliance processes through accurate data management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
