Job summary

Badger Meter is seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our People Operations team at the Milwaukee facility for a 40-hour-per-week summer internship. You will gain hands-on experience across HR functions, supporting operations, recruiting, onboarding, engagement, analytics, and process improvement.

You will work with HR team members and cross-functional stakeholders to apply academic knowledge to real-world workforce challenges and help develop solutions that enhance the employee experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
• Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources, People Operations, Talent Acquisition, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and make thoughtful recommendations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR and People Operations activities and projects.
• Assist with recruiting coordination, include interview scheduling, candidate communication, and recruiting-related administrative activities.
• Support onboarding activities and identify opportunities to improve the new-hire experience and onboarding processes.
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives and activities that support a positive employee experience.
• Support the collection, organization, and reporting of HR data and workforce metrics.
• Assist with HR data analysis and development of reports, dashboards, or other tools used to support workforce decisions.
• Research and assist with updates to HR policies, procedures, forms, and other employee documentation.
• Support compliance-related activities and help maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, and systems.
• Assist with documenting current processes and developing recommendations for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in HR projects that involve cross-functional collaboration and process improvement.
• Research HR practices, trends, and emerging technologies that may benefit the organization.
• Assist with special projects across People Operations based on department priorities.
• Track project activities, action items, and deliverables.Communicate project updates and findings to HR team members and stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgment when handling employee and organizational information.
