Job summary

Central Arizona Shelter Services, Inc. is seeking an Human Resources Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle.

You will assist with recruitment, onboarding, HRIS administration, payroll and benefits coordination, compliance, training, records management, and HR projects. The role focuses on creating an efficient, legally compliant HR process and a positive employee experience while supporting organizational goals in a multi-location office

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities: postings, applicant tracking, scheduling, communications, background checks, and pre-employment requirements.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, new hire orientation, HRIS setup, I-9/E-Verify compliance, and record maintenance.
• Maintain accurate employee records and process personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, pay changes, leaves, separations).
• Assist with payroll and benefits administration, documentation, enrollments, and life events.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local laws and organizational policies; support audits and reporting.
