Job summary

Willmeng Construction, Inc. seeks a People Governance Partner to ensure our People Operations comply with federal, state, and local employment laws across all states. You will manage governance, documentation, and compliance projects and partner with the Head of People Operations.

This hands-on role covers recordkeeping, audits, training compliance, onboarding, and cross-functional collaboration with legal counsel and leadership, with regular travel to satellite offices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HR generalist experience with multi-state compliance
• Working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and state-specific leave/wage laws
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Experience drafting employee handbooks and policies
• Confidentiality and discretion in handling information
• Regulatory research and interpretation
• Cross-functional collaboration with legal counsel and leadership

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret employment law changes across states where Willmeng operates.
• Maintain state-specific handbook addenda and policy documentation.
• Own document retention for personnel files and postings across all offices.
• Support audits and prepare documentation for external reviews.
• Draft and update employee handbooks and standalone policies.
• Audit compliance regarding employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate mandatory compliance training and track completion.
• Prepare compliance-related reporting for executive leadership.
• Support onboarding process compliance across states.
