Job summary

CBRE is seeking a People Generalist to support HR initiatives, policies, and procedures. You will handle onboarding, employee life cycle changes, and terminations, while coordinating forms and bonuses, and supporting the HR Business Partner team.

You will stay current on employment laws, advise managers on leave policies, and maintain confidential records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA. This role emphasizes CBRE values and professional collaboration in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

About the Role:

As a CBRE People Generalist, you’ll be responsible for supporting various human resources initiatives, policies and procedures. You will also provide conflict resolution services, and communicate People/HR programs and policies.

This job is part of the People Strategy and Operations function. They are responsible for the design, execution, and monitoring of human resource programs and policies.

What You’ll Do:
  • Oversee HR transactions related to onboarding of new employees, status changes for existing employees, and terminations of employees.

  • Provide interpretation of HR policies and procedures as they relate to individuals and the company objectives.

  • Prepare reports and data to present to other areas of the business.

  • Pulling together data and reports for peer reviews.

  • Provide HR support during account transitions and demobilizations.

  • Provide ongoing administrative and operational support to the HR Business Partner team.

  • Coordinating the processing of forms, offer letters, and processing bonuses

  • Spearhead employee relations claims, start the discovery process and gather information relating to the situations.

  • Manage unemployment claim inquiries and background check adjudication requests.

  • Communicate company and government rules, regulations, and procedures and the need for compliance to management and employees.

  • Stay current on federal and state employment laws.

  • Review and coordinate leave and accommodation requests, ensuring timely communication and resolution.

  • Advise employees and managers on leave policies, procedures, eligibility requirements, and return-to-work processes.

  • Maintain confidential employee records and ensure compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and other applicable regulations.

  • Oversee HR transactions related to onboarding of new employees, status changes for existing employees, and terminations of employees.

  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.

  • Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

  • Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.

  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
