Job summary

The City of Leawood seeks a collaborative Human Resources & Employee Experience Advisor to join the HR team. This full-time, on-site role supports the employee lifecycle, offers practical guidance, administers payroll and benefits, and leads HR initiatives to improve the employee experience.

The successful candidate will handle employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and data-driven program enhancements, while upholding confidentiality and high service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Three years of HR experience across multiple functional areas.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Ability to exercise sound independent judgment with escalation when needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to supervisors on employee relations and performance management.
• Lead HR projects from concept to implementation.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and applicant screening.
• Administer payroll and benefits programs with accuracy.
• Maintain HR data accuracy and produce reports.
• Support performance management and employee development programs.
• Support engagement, recognition, and culture initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR services using data and feedback.
