Job summary

At TAS Environmental Services, LP, the People Experience team focuses on what people need and how to provide it. The People Experience Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping with staffing, onboarding, and compensation and benefits.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years HR experience and a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. The position offers a comprehensive benefits program and opportunities to work across multiple sites in the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Working knowledge of compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal/state employment laws.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience partnering with safety teams.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring of qualified applicants with department managers.
• Onboards new employees, orders equipment, and completes onboarding paperwork.
• Tracks issued equipment using the HRIS system.
• Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Handles employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
• Visits a minimum of two operational sites per week within the region.
• Maintains compliance with federal/state/local employment laws and reviews policies.
• Keeps knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new HR technologies.
• Be the backup for payroll processing and biweekly updates to employee files.
• Maintains accurate employee records including attendance and leaves.

People Experience Generalist Job Duties

• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Responsible for onboarding new employees including equipment ordering and ensuring the completion of onboarding paperwork.
• Records/tracks company issued equipment to employees by utilizing the tracking tool available in the HRIS system.
• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• PX Generalists are required to visit a minimum of two (2) operational sites per week within their assigned region. East locations include, El Dorado AR, Little Rock AR, Nashville TN, Memphis TN, Peral MS, Little Rock TX.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including biweekly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, and vacation/sick pay.
• Maintains accurate employee records, including attendance, leaves and personal information.
• Completes employment verification requests (Non-DOT).
• Assists the PX Management team with conducting New Hire Orientation sessions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience partnering with safety teams.
