Job summary

TAS Environmental Services, LP is seeking a People Experience Generalist to handle both administrative and strategic HR responsibilities across staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits. The role includes onboarding, payroll backup, and compliance across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate brings experience in employee relations, HR disciplines, and collaboration with safety teams, with a focus on delivering strong people outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Working knowledge of compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience partnering with safety teams.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring; collaborates with managers to define required skills and competencies.
• Onboarding new employees including equipment ordering and paperwork.
• Tracks issued equipment via HRIS-based tracking tool.
• Conducts or facilitates background checks and eligibility verifications.
• Handles employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; refers sensitive matters appropriately.
• Visits a minimum of two operational sites per week within assigned region.
• Maintains compliance with employment laws and updates policies accordingly.
• Keeps knowledge current on HR trends and regulatory changes.
• Be the primary backup for payroll processing and updates to employee files.
• Maintains employee records including attendance, leaves and personal information.
• Completes employment verification requests.
• Assists management with New Hire Orientation sessions.

People Experience Generalist Job Duties:

• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Responsible for onboarding new employees including equipment ordering and ensuring the completion of onboarding paperwork.
• Records/tracks company issued equipment to employees by utilizing the tracking tool available in the HRIS system.
• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• PX Generalists are required to visit a minimum of two (2) operational sites per week within their assigned region. East locations include, El Dorado AR, Little Rock AR, Nashville TN, Memphis TN, Peral MS, Little Rock TX.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including biweekly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, and vacation/sick pay.
• Maintains accurate employee records, including attendance, leaves and personal information.
• Completes employment verification requests (Non-DOT).
• Assists the PX Management team with conducting New Hire Orientation sessions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience partnering with safety teams.
