Job summary

Bowdoin College seeks an Employee Relations Specialist to provide high-level HR administrative, operational, and project support to the Associate Director of Employee Relations & Engagement. You will assist with employee engagement initiatives, new hire orientation, and confidential records while liaising with employees and managers to promote a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HR, Business Administration, Communications or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
• PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and HRIS; Workday preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidential employee relations records per policy.
• Provide guidance on performance management resources to managers.
• Maintain HR systems for engagement surveys and reports.
• Coordinate HR training, engagement activities, and recognition initiatives.
• Process unemployment claims and participate in hearings as needed.
• Support new employee orientation and engagement initiatives.
