Job summary

Denny’s is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our restaurant team in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. You will oversee hiring, training, coaching, and performance while driving sales and profitability through strong operational execution and cost control.

You’ll ensure food quality, safety, and hospitality standards are upheld, manage staffing and scheduling, and mentor future leaders. A focus on guest satisfaction and team engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant management or General Manager experience.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Experience hiring, training, coaching, and developing employees.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, labor management, and food cost control.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
• Ability to analyze restaurant performance and take action to improve results.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• ServSafe or food safety certification preferred, where applicable.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the restaurant team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Create a positive, team-oriented culture focused on hospitality and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure standards for food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety are met.
• Drive sales and profitability through strong operational execution and cost management.
• Monitor restaurant performance and take action to achieve sales, labor, and food cost goals.
• Ensure guests receive friendly, accurate, and timely service across shifts.
• Maintain high standards for food preparation, presentation, and consistency.
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling, labor costs, and daily deployment.
• Recruit and retain high-quality team members and develop future leaders.
• Ensure compliance with policies, health regulations, food safety standards, and workplace safety requirements.
• Manage inventory, ordering, waste, and food costs to protect profitability.
• Conduct regular restaurant walks to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Lead opening, closing, and daily operating procedures.
• Respond professionally to guest concerns and resolve issues quickly.
