The Ned NoMad in New York City is seeking a Senior Generalist to support the People Director. This fast-moving role is autonomous and requires handling policies, procedures, recruiting, benefits, and employee relations to ensure legal compliance and smooth daily operations.
You will drive the people plan with empathy, collaborate with department heads and senior management, and lead engagement initiatives, training, and performance processes.
Welcome to The Ned NoMad, a sophisticated members' club and hotel nestled in the heart of New York City. As the first international outpost of The Ned, we proudly opened our doors in Summer 2022, following the iconic debut of The Ned London in 2017.
Set in the historic Johnston Building, formerly the NoMad Hotel, our property boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1903. With design expertise from the Soho House Design team, we've lovingly preserved the building's original charm while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary style.
At The Ned NoMad, we offer an eclectic mix of exclusive and public spaces, including 167 elegantly appointed bedrooms and suites, a lively rooftop bar and terrace restaurant, a first-floor bar, restaurant, lounge, and nightly live entertainment.
We are looking for a Senior Generalist to support and report directly into the People Director. This is a fast-moving business, so we are looking for the right individual to be autonomous and be able to pick up multiple tasks and projects at once. The Senior Generalist will be primarily responsible for the daily maintenance of company policies, procedures, and practices including recruiting, benefits, and employee relations. Such deliverables include but are not limited to ensuring legal compliance, overseeing all aspects of wage, benefit, worker’s compensation, unemployment, training programs, adherence to policies and procedures, and employee engagement initiatives as team events, parties, morale maintenance.
You will help bring to life the overall people plan strategy and ensure we are striving to serve with empathy. Our people team needs to be in the heart of conversations and decisions therefore there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will naturally be able to harness relationships with employees up to Senior Management.
Our culture is pacey but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you.
The Ned is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace that seeks to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We therefore encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages, and sexual orientations, as well as parents, veterans, people living with disabilities, and any other groups that could bring diverse perspectives to our business.
