Job summary

Poppy & Peonies is seeking a People & Culture Specialist to lead the day-to-day people function as we scale. You’ll own onboarding, performance, benefits, and employee relations while shaping culture for a remote-first team.

Partner with the founder and leadership to translate business priorities into practical people plans, design growth programs, and build scalable HR systems that support our values and ambitious growth goals.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience with generalist responsibilities.
• Experience working with founders and senior leaders in founder-led businesses.
• Strong knowledge across performance management, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, employee experience, learning and development, and offboarding.
• Experience coaching managers through performance concerns and feedback.
• Ability to move between strategic planning and detailed execution.

Responsibilities

• Partner with founders and leadership to translate business priorities into people plans.
• Develop short- and long-term workforce plans and address skill gaps.
• Coach managers on performance concerns and development.
• Oversee onboarding, culture, and employee experience for a remote-first team.
• Support recruitment strategy, descriptions, and candidate experience with external partners.
• Build scalable HR programs, processes, and systems for a growing company.
