Job summary

Fibre Converters, Inc. in Constantine, MI is seeking a Human Resources Manager to serve as a trusted, people-first partner for employees and leaders.

This onsite role will oversee recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and HR compliance while helping maintain a respectful workplace and supporting the company’s vision, mission, and values. You will coordinate with supervisors, outside administrators, and technical partners to ensure programs run accurately, consistently, and on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or business-related field.
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
• Two years experience in benefit plan administration.
• Two years experience in payroll administration.
• Working knowledge of laws including FLSA, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, PWFA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, NLRA, USERRA, OSHA, I-9/E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting by partnering with hiring managers and writing postings.
• Coordinate onboarding with 30, 60, and 90 day check-ins.
• Review and update job descriptions annually and as roles change.
• Coach supervisors on performance conversations and documentation.
• Conduct investigations into harassment and discrimination concerns.
• Support employee engagement through recognition programs and surveys.
• Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends.
• Administer benefits programs and lead annual open enrollment.
• Manage leaves of absence and accommodation requests (FMLA, ADA, PWFA, PUMP Act).
• Maintain confidential HR records and process bi-weekly payrolls on time.
