Job summary

Ground Control Touring in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a hands-on People & Culture professional to own HR, payroll, benefits, systems, recruiting, onboarding, culture, and employee relations. This full-time role reports to the Managing Director and President/Co-Founder, based at the Brooklyn headquarters.

You will partner with leadership to shape HR strategy, streamline processes, improve candidate experience, and ensure compliance while driving a positive workplace aligned with our live-music focus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a hands-on generalist or business partner HR role.
• Experience working with employee populations across functions and levels.
• Degree or certification in human resources strongly preferred.
• Direct full-cycle recruiting experience strongly preferred.
• Fluency with HRIS, Payroll, ATS, personnel file management and other HR systems.
• Experience resolving performance issues with employment law knowledge.
• Understanding of worker classification and FLSA requirements; payroll co-management.
• Knowledge of employee benefits and open enrollment processes.
• Passionate about music and live shows.
• Ability to work across different personalities.
• Good judgement in sensitive situations.
• Excellent verbal, written and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and OneDrive.
• Curiosity and work ethic aligned with GCT values.

Responsibilities

• Update HR strategy, priorities, and annual HR calendar.
• Run annual and recurring processes: performance reviews, enrollment, training, and policy reviews.
• Manage recruiting; streamline processes and candidate experience.
• Conduct hands-on recruiting across job descriptions, posting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
• Identify training opportunities; procure resources and facilitate trainings.
• Suggest activities and tools to improve culture, productivity, and retention.
• Review company policies to stay compliant and competitive.
• Co-manage the TriNet PEO relationship.
• Resolve employee relations and performance matters; escalate as needed.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and support.
• Provide day-to-day coaching to supervisors on communication and development.
• Handle other duties and special projects as needed.
