Job summary

The Cleveland Institute of Music’s Office of People & Culture is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to manage daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leaves, and employee relations, in support of CIM’s inclusive workplace.

You will partner with faculty and staff, administer workers’ compensation, coordinate training, maintain HR data integrity, and ensure compliance with federal and state laws while upholding CIM’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience; higher education preferred.
• Experience with benefits administration, employee relations and recruiting; HRIS/ADP experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle full cycle hiring processes: post, recruit, interview, and hire staff.
• Administer benefits, leaves, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local employment laws and institute policies.
• Maintain employee data in HRIS and prepare workforce reports.
• Support labor relations and disciplinary matters as needed.
