Job summary

YMCA of the North Shore is hiring an HR Generalist in Beverly, MA to support the People & Culture team across locations. You will handle employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and performance management in a collaborative, mission-driven setting.

We seek a candidate with at least 2 years in HR, strong knowledge of employment laws, and excellent communication. The role offers meaningful work, a benefits package, and opportunities in professional growth within seven YMCA locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years HR Generalist or HRBP experience across multiple locations.
• Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Employee Relations & Compliance: be first contact for ER issues and advise on policies and laws.
• Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding: partner with recruitment, prepare offers, guide new hires.
• Performance Management & Policy Implementation: coach managers, implement policies, track performance.
• Training & Development: support compliance and HR training; track participation.
• Culture & Engagement: act as culture ambassador and drive engagement initiatives.
• HR Operations & Administration: support audits, maintain employee data, process changes.
