Job summary

YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the full employee lifecycle—from recruiting and onboarding to performance management and employee relations—across the Chippewa Valley association. This 40 hour/week, full-time role partners with the Director of HR and managers, uses UKG Ready, and aims to enhance the employee experience while upholding the YMCA’s values.

The position offers a salary of $50,000 to $60,000 per year and a benefits package including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
• At least 3 years of progressive HR experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
• Working knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, compensation, and HR compliance.
• Strong communication, organization, follow-through, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.
• The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and care.
• Preferred: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a knowledgeable, approachable HR resource for employees and managers.
• Coach leaders on employee relations, performance expectations, documentation, feedback, and accountability.
• Partner with hiring managers to create effective job postings, support interviews, coordinate selection activities, and improve the candidate/new hire experience.
• Support onboarding, performance review cycles, benefits and compensation processes, leave of absence administration, HR compliance, and staff communications.
• Use UKG Ready and other HR tools to improve workflows, forms, reporting, permissions, and employee-facing processes.
• Lead or coordinate assigned HR projects that strengthen the employee, manager, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding experience.
