Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in San Diego, CA is seeking a People Consultant to partner with People Managers and HR leaders, translating workforce strategy into practical programs that enhance the employee experience and ensure compliant execution of People processes across the West Coast.

This role demands strong advisory skills, credibility with senior leaders, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a matrix organization, while communicating clearly in English and balancing multiple

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of HR experience, preferably in an international, matrixed environment.
• HR or equivalent degree qualification.
• Experience across a combination of HRBP or HR Generalist roles and HR Operations or HR Services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to managers on complex workforce matters and HR policy.
• Upskill new People Managers and support experienced managers with HR processes.
• Exercise discretion and sound judgment to determine the best resolution path.
• Partner with HRBPs to use diagnostics and data to identify proactive interventions.
• Ensure workforce leaders understand People processes.
• Coordinate end-to-end delivery of global priorities with People Services teams.
• Roll out global programmes with COEs and Process Designers when required.
• Develop understanding of California employment legislation to ensure compliant advice.
• Research and respond to HR issues with cross-functional colleagues.
• Collaborate with peers to share ideas for improving the employee experience.
• May lead or contribute to People-related projects.
