Power Design, Inc. is seeking a People Business Partner to join the SOURCE, our People Operations team, based at the St. Petersburg, FL headquarters. You’ll guide employee relations, performance management, and retention across a national design‑build contractor.

You’ll coach managers, conduct investigations, resolve workplace concerns, and drive engagement through data‑driven insights while upholding Power Design’s core values of integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business admin, or related field; SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
• 5+ years HR experience in roles like HRBP, HR Generalist, or People Business Partner.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws; investigations experience.
• Able to resolve conflicts fairly; listens to perspectives and escalates when needed.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication; builds trust across all levels.
• MS Office proficiency; Workday experience desirable; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

About the Position

As a trusted, hands-on resource for team members and leaders, you’ll guide employee relations, performance management, and retention efforts across a national, vertically integrated design-build contractor.

In this role, you’ll resolve workplace concerns with fairness and discretion, coach managers through challenging conversations, and turn employee feedback into insights that strengthen engagement. Position Responsibilities

• Serve as a go-to resource for team members and leaders, interpreting programs and policies and responding promptly to employee relations matters and inquiries

• Support employee relations needs, including counseling on job-related conflicts, resolving disputes, and addressing performance concerns

• Conduct thorough, objective employee investigations and document findings and recommended resolutions

• Review and approve progressive disciplinary notices and termination requests, ensuring fair, consistent, and well-documented outcomes

• Manage unemployment claims and partner with People Operations on workers’ compensation programs at the state and regional levels

• Coach managers on performance management, feedback, and corrective action to strengthen team results

• Conduct exit interviews and internal feedback sessions, analyzing trends to inform proactive employee relations and retention initiatives

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

• Participate in strategic SOURCE projects, initiatives, and training programs that enhance the employee experience

• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and Learning & Development teams to deliver seamless support to team members and leaders

Here’s What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; SPHR or PHR certification highly preferred

• 5+ years of human resources experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, Employee Relations Specialist, People Business Partner, or similar roles

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, with hands‑on experience managing employee relations matters and investigations

• Proven ability to resolve conflicts fairly, listening to different perspectives and making sound, independent decisions while knowing when to elevate complex situations

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and interact effectively with all levels of the organization

• Highly organized and detail‑oriented, able to manage a high volume of priorities and changing deadlines while delivering results

• Professional and poised, exercising independent judgment and discretion while maintaining strict confidentiality

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with Workday highly desirable

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
