Job summary

Belvedere Trading, a leading proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, seeks a People Operations Generalist to own analytics, HRIS, and compensation benchmarking across the employee lifecycle.

You will collaborate with the People Partners to turn data into strategic recommendations, manage performance processes, and drive improvements in onboarding, benefits, and offboarding. This role sits within a small, focused team and offers ownership from day one.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Generalist, People Analytics, HR/Compensation, or a related analytical role, with real ownership of data, metrics, or systems.
• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience considered.
• Advanced Excel skills, with a track record of building and auditing complex models.
• Able to assemble datasets from multiple sources; SQL or similar querying experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to build reporting that others use, in Power BI or a comparable tool.
• Hands-on experience owning or administering an HRIS, including configuration, data integrity, and vendor management. Paycom, CultureAmp, and an HRIS migration is a plus.
• Experience with compensation and market benchmarking data, or strong analytical rigor that transfers directly.
• Sound judgment handling confidential People data — compensation, performance, and employee relations.
• Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful, someone who fixes what's broken without being asked.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Able to run multiple concurrent workstreams (analytics, comp, performance cycle, offboarding)

Responsibilities

• Define and drive People analytics end to end: metric set, reporting infrastructure, headcount, hiring, turnover, and performance reporting.
• Test and strengthen people data with the People Partners to derive actionable recommendations.
• Own the People Operations side of the HRIS and internal Portal (config, access, integrations, data hygiene).
• Lead compensation market intelligence and benchmarking; model costs and propose actions.
• Manage the performance review program from design through reporting and cycle outcomes.
• Run offboarding end to end, coordinate with People, legal, payroll; extract retention insights.
• Automate manual work and improve People processes.
• Support onboarding, benefits, leave, and daily employee questions with the People Operations team.
