Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is offering a 6-month Human Resources People Analytics Co-op designed for students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in HR, IO psychology, data analytics, or related fields. You will develop dashboards, perform research, and collaborate with HR and business leaders to translate questions into data-driven insights.

You will gain experience in data governance, data quality, and the application of quantitative and qualitative methods.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Data Analytics, Business, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Interest in People Analytics, workforce research, and HR data applications.
• Foundational quantitative and qualitative research skills and ability to summarize findings.
• Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; foundational Python and SQL experience for data extraction and analysis.
• Familiarity with data visualization or BI tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information concisely.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team; manage tasks and incorporate feedback.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; Vertex does not sponsor internships/co-ops.
• You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2027.
• You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January to June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Develop workforce reporting, dashboards, and analytics to provide actionable insights.
• Conduct research on workforce trends, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness.
• Participate in data collection, literature reviews, and development of findings.
• Translate questions into data-driven recommendations with HR and business leaders.
• Improve HR data quality, governance, and analytical capabilities.
• Explore new technologies and methods, including AI, to enhance workforce insights.
