Under the Benefits Manager, you will respond to member inquiries, manage documentation, and provide clerical support to the Benefits Department while ensuring compliance with the Illinois

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, accounting, education, business, or a related degree.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong communication.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Experience with pensions, benefits, or employee relations is preferred.
• Strong numerical and data interpretation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process and calculate one type of benefit claim (retirement, refund, APB, disability, or survivor) and related recalculations.
• Process five types of optional service adjustments with proficiency.
• Respond to inquiries regarding benefit claims or adjustments.
• Provide technical and clerical support to the Benefits Department.
• Analyze and prepare calculation and benefit information for members.
• Organize applications for claim processing as needed.
• Review, interpret, and submit claim recalculations and miscellaneous adjustments.
• Review documents for eligibility and determine appropriate benefits.
