Job summary

The Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois (TRS) is hiring a Benefits Analyst I to work under the Benefits Manager. The role focuses on analyzing, researching, and processing benefit claims and optional service adjustments with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, maintaining knowledge of Pension Code provisions, and supporting the Benefits Department through clerical tasks and documentation management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, accounting, education, business, or a related degree.
• Experience with pensions/benefits data is preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of statutory requirements and procedures for retirement options and benefits.
• Process and calculate benefit claims and related adjustments using appropriate applications.
• Respond to inquiries and provide clear information to members and employers.
