Job summary

Alsco is seeking a payroll/retirement administrator to manage day-to-day payroll transactions for the 401(k) Savings Plan and union pension plans. You will analyze plan activity and prepare reports for management, auditors, and record-keeper, while supporting open enrollment and new-hire reviews.

The role requires 1–2 years of 401(k) administration, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office. Travel 2–4 times yearly; base pay is hourly $24–$27.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic accounting.
• Knowledge of ERISA-qualified retirement plans.
• 1–2 years of direct 401(k) administration experience.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Update, audit, and track 401(k) participant records.
• Manage union pension records within the HRIS system.
• Prepare and reconcile company and participant contributions with the record keeper.
• Problem-solve with 401(k) participants through direct communication.
• Report and analyze for Alsco's outside auditors.
• Explain plan provisions to participants and branch HR staff.
• Participate in departmental discussions to improve plan administration.
• Handle other retirement plan projects as assigned.
