Kishwaukee College seeks Peer Tutors to provide high quality one-on-one and group tutoring to students, helping them become independent and confident learners.

You will develop supplemental materials, use Zoom and Accudemia, attend trainings, and collaborate with the Tutoring Services team to support student success. This on-campus role values reliability, confidentiality, and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as Kishwaukee College student with at least 6 credit hours.
• GPA of 3.6 or higher in the courses to be tutored.
• Recommendation from instructor of the course to be tutored.
• Dependable, responsible, reliable, and punctual.
• Willingness to learn and ability to explain concepts to others.

Peer Tutors provide quality one-on-one and group learning assistance to guide students in developing their skills to become independent and successful learners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Provide high quality one-on-one and group tutoring to all students. Contribute in the development of supplemental materials for specific subject areas. Maintain proficiency in using online meeting software (primarily Zoom) and tutoring session reporting systems (primarily Accudemia). Attend all trainings and workshops pertinent to specific tutoring assignments. Attend all meetings conducted by the Professional Lead Tutors and Library Director in conjunction with tutoring. Participate in all tutoring evaluation procedures. Maintain confidentiality and record progress of student learning during the tutoring sessions. Treat all students with dignity and respect. Perform other duties as assigned by Tutoring Services. Promote a safe and positive work environment in all aspects of Kishwaukee College

Qualifications/Skills Required

Current enrollment at Kishwaukee College as a student with at least 6 credit hours. Achievement of at least a 3.6 GPA in the course/courses they will tutor (courses selected per the needs of Tutoring Services). Recommendation from an instructor of a class they will tutor. Must be dependable, responsible, reliable, and punctual. Willingness to learn and ability to explain concepts to others.
