Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point is seeking a Peer Tutor for STEM to support fellow students on campus in achieving their learning goals. As a tutor you will develop communication and mentorship skills while gaining deeper understanding of STEM subjects, with flexible on‑campus hours (4–12 per week) and a starting pay of $12.00 per hour.

You will join the Tutoring‑Learning Center, collaborate with peers in an inclusive learning environment, and attend required trainings and orientations

Qualifications

• Completed at least one UWSP semester with two semesters remaining.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher or faculty recommendation letter.
• Available to tutor for at least two semesters.
• Willing to work with peers in a collaborative, inclusive learning environment.
• Enjoy helping others learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas.
• Assist learners in developing effective study skills and test-taking strategies.
• Learn and apply TLC and tutoring program procedures.
• Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members.
• Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions.
