University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) is seeking a Peer Tutor for Tech Essentials to support fellow students on campus, helping them reach learning goals while you gain professional skills. You will sharpen communication, mentoring, and tutoring abilities through interaction with diverse learners, and you’ll work in a flexible on-campus setting.

This student hourly role requires enrollment with at least two semesters remaining, and offers a starting wage of $12.00 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher or faculty recommendation.
  • Available to tutor for at least two semesters.
  • Enjoy helping others learn and work with peers in an inclusive environment.
  • Willing to work with peers in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas
  • Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies
  • Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures
  • Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members
  • Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions

Qualifications
  • Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter.
  • Available to tutor for at least two semesters
