Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist for our Peer Living Room in North Carolina. You will support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health challenges, promoting recovery and community integration.

The role emphasizes peer mentoring, group facilitation, and helping clients achieve recovery goals. Eligibility includes NC CPSS certification, driver’s license, and mandatory training within 90 days; benefits are provided for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Certified NC Peer Support Specialist.
• Must complete a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training specific to the required components within the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• CPR, first aid, NCI and/or role related certification, a plus.
• Pre‑employment screening: criminal background checks in registries (OIG, Child Abuse Registry, etc.).
• Drug testing and credential verification as required.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients to provide support aligned with recovery goals.
• Facilitate peer support groups, meetings, and workshops.
• Assist individuals in decision making and resolving minor problems.
• Connect individuals with resources and encourage follow-through.
• Foster development of healthy relationships and community participation.
• Observe well-being and discuss observations with individuals.
• Model coping and self‑help techniques.
• Provide empowerment and community living support.
