Job summary

PeerStar is Pennsylvania's largest and most established peer support provider, delivering recovery-focused services since 2008. We hire Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) and CRS to support others on their recovery journey using lived experience.

We sponsor your class for certification and offer full- and part-time roles with benefits, a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($2,000 if already certified), and opportunities including health, dental, 401(k) with match, PTO, and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience with recovery from mental health disorders and/or substance use.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Criminal history clearances (PA State Police, FBI, Child Abuse) required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required; fluent in both languages, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 peer support using lived experience to inspire hope and empowerment.
• Promote self-determination and build trust with participants.
• Support recovery planning and connect individuals to community resources.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience in the recovery process from mental health disorders and/or substance use.
• Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
• Have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (preferred)
• Have completed a peer specialist certification training curriculum approved by the state of Pennsylvania
• Criminal History Clearances- PA State Police Clearance, Child Abuse, FBI
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
• Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish in verbal and written formats.
