Job summary

McLeod Centers for Wellbeing seeks a Full-Time Peer Support Specialist and Front Office Coordinator for its Spindale, NC OTP clinic. The role uses lived recovery experience to engage patients, foster hope, and support recovery while orienting new clients to services and community resources.

You will work with licensed and non-licensed staff to ensure smooth patient flow, verify demographics and insurance, maintain records, and perform front desk duties with confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Current credential as a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist.
• Prior office administration experience in healthcare with attention to patient confidentiality/HIPAA.
• Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software (Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support services using lived recovery experience to encourage engagement and recovery.
• Build supportive relationships with patients and promote recovery-oriented principles.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to identify patient needs and interventions.
• Orient new patients to McLeod Centers and available community resources.
• Coordinate front office operations: patient registration, scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, and financial information and assist with payments.
• Maintain patient records and upload documentation into the EHR.
