Eliot Community Human Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Peer Specialist to join our Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS).

You will support adults with serious mental illness in community and residential settings, helping them advocate for recovery and personal goals under the guidance of a multidisciplinary team. The role emphasizes empowerment, psychoeducation, and coordination with ACCS staff to ensure person-centered care that respects diverse backgrounds and autonomy.

Qualifications

• Must have used mental health services in the past and show personal recovery.
• Certified Peer Specialist or enroll within six months of hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Empower Persons with mental illness to exercise autonomy in all aspects of their life.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure that the person’s perspective is included and preferences are recognized.
• Provide training and consultation to staff to facilitate understanding of Person perspectives as needed.
• Provide guidance to Persons in the recovery journey with advocacy, support, and education during intake and transition processes.
• Promote hope and empowerment through meetings and support with Persons.
• Participate in development of treatment plans and assist Persons in communicating their personal recovery goals.
• Ensure services are culturally competent, strengths-based, and centered on Person preferences.
