Peer Specialist - Behavioral Health Services Full-time position at East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) - Barrington, RI
About the Role:

Join our growing Behavioral Health Services Division as a Peer Specialist, where you'll make a meaningful impact by supporting clients on their recovery journey. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll leverage your personal recovery experience and professional training to inspire and guide others toward positive lifestyle changes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a role model for clients in our Health Home treatment environment
  • Coach clients in identifying their strengths and developing effective coping skills
  • Provide mentoring focused on building client self-sufficiency and recovery
  • Conduct home visits with Community Treatment Specialists
Schedule:
  • Primary hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (4 days/week)
  • One weekday: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Required monthly: One Saturday shift
  • Occasional holiday coverage
Required Qualifications:
  • Rhode Island State Certification as a Peer Specialist or Wellness Coach
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with insurance
  • Personal recovery experience and willingness to share insights appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
