Job Description

Pay Range: $21.58 - 30.22/hr

Additional components of compensation may include:

    • Evening, night, and weekend shift differential
    • Overtime
    • On-call pay

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists the interdisciplinary team in providing direct patient care under the direction of the Charge Nurse. Leads educational groups. Provides and participates in co-leadership of supportive therapy under the direction and supervision of the Behavioral Therapist.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology or related field

Preferred:

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Minimum: Current certification in nonviolent crisis intervention required within 90 days of hire.

CPR Bi-annual certification

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

Preferred: 2 years experience in a psychiatric setting

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational and critical decision-making skills.
  • Successful completion of annual clinical, age specific and job specific competencies and skills validation tools.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides therapeutic patient care.
  • Monitors and records patient activities and behaviors and documents in the medical record per department and hospital policy and procedures. Communicates pertinent information to other disciplines in order to promote an integrated approach to treatment.
  • Co-leads designated groups and actively participates in program evaluation. Leads designated psycho-educational groups, as experience allows, with appropriate supervision.
  • Participates in nonviolent crisis intervention and crisis management as needed.
  • Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts.
