Job summary

A Safe Haven is seeking a Recovery Residence Coordinator to oversee daily operations and ensure a safe, supportive living environment at our Chicago residence.

The role involves monitoring program adherence, coordinating with case managers and clinical staff, and supporting residents’ recovery goals through structured routines, documentation, and crisis response. Evening/weekend flexibility is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in residential programs, recovery environments, or human services settings preferred.
  • Understanding of substance use recovery principles, trauma-informed practices, and supportive housing models.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the recovery residence to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.
  • Monitor resident compliance with program rules, expectations, and schedules.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to program standards.
  • Support resident onboarding, including orientation to house rules, expectations, and available services.
  • Address resident concerns, elevate issues appropriately, and support conflict resolution.
  • Document incidents, rule violations, and resident interactions in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Coordinate with case managers, clinical staff, and peer support specialists to address resident needs and service gaps.
  • Assist with scheduling, curfew checks, attendance tracking, and completion of required logs.
  • Support crisis intervention efforts and report safety concerns promptly to leadership.
  • Help facilitate resident meetings, workshops, or recovery-support activities as assigned.
  • Ensure facilities are stocked with necessary supplies and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and recovery throughout the residence.

Job DetailsJob Location: Headquarters - Chicago, IL 60608Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 HourlyThe Recovery Residence Coordinator for A Safe Haven’s Recovery Homes is responsible for overseeing the daily functioning, safety, and resident experience within the recovery housing environment. This role ensures that the residence operates smoothly by monitoring resident adherence to program expectations, supporting a positive and structured living environment, and assisting in coordinating services that promote recovery, stability, and community integration. The Recovery Residence Coordinator works closely with case managers, clinical staff, and peer support specialists to address resident needs, maintain facility standards, respond to incidents, and help residents access resources that support their recovery goals. With a strong focus on accountability, engagement, and respect, the Recovery Residence Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a safe, supportive, and recovery-oriented community.
