Job summary

Rogers Behavioral Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to provide peer-based recovery support, engage patients in treatment, and collaborate with the treatment team to promote resilience and wellness. You will share recovery stories, apply trauma-informed approaches, and help build individualized recovery plans.

A Wisconsin SAC/CSAC credential, driver’s license, and peer specialization training are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Wisconsin-certified alcohol/drug counselor credential (SAC/CSAC).
• Must hold a valid Wisconsin driver’s license; driving record approved by hospital insurance carrier may be required.
• American Heart Association CPR certification or American Red Cross Professional Rescue within 30 days of employment.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a mental health or addictions treatment facility.
• Crisis prevention/intervention training required within 60 days of hire; annual re-certification.
• First-aid training required within 90 days of employment; CB RF fire-safety training within 90 days.
• Certification as a recovery peer specialist by a certified program.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to patients in recovery.
• Assist care coordination or admissions staff with patients facing admission challenges.
• Engage patients to maintain engagement in treatment.
• Share personal recovery experiences to inspire peers.
• Demonstrate trauma-informed relationships and connect peers with appropriate resources.
• Support patient development of recovery/wellness plans and crisis management plans.
• Interact with patients to document progress and report on treatment plans.
