Job summary

CCI Health Services seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist in Silver Spring, MD, to support individuals battling substance use disorders. Under the Behavioral Health Medical Director, you will conduct non-clinical, strength-based sessions, perform assessments, and help develop personalized recovery plans.

You will also handle case management, crisis intervention, and coordinate care with other professionals, while documenting progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in individual and group counseling and case management within addiction treatment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to addiction treatment.
• Familiarity with research data collection, tracking, and reporting in behavioral health.
• Strong crisis management and intervention skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; maintains confidentiality and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group sessions to address addiction issues and promote recovery.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate client needs.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessments.
• Provide case management and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques for high-stress situations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, plans, and session notes.
• Collect and analyze data related to addiction treatment outcomes.
• Educate clients about addiction, recovery processes, and resources.
• Apply medical terminology and coding knowledge in counseling practices.
