Summary:

The Peer Recovery Partner role provides one-on-one support to people in the community, at their homes, and/or at the location where the peer works. This role also involves group facilitation and supporting individuals in connecting to wellness and recovery opportunities within their communities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. Education: Some college coursework preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Completion of, or ability to complete relevant training required. This may include the State of Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) Certification. Provisional CIPSS Certification may be required within 9 months of start date. Ability to maintain certification is also required. Recovery Coach training may be required upon hire or within 9 months of start date. A valid Driver's License and a vehicle available for work, covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy, are required.
  3. Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support is preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements: Candidates should be receiving or have received services/support related to a history of substance use, be in active recovery, and be willing to self-identify on this basis with peers and in the community. Computer proficiency is required.
