Qualifications

Summary:

The Peer Recovery Partner role provides one-on-one support to individuals in the community, at their homes, and/or at the location where the peer works. This role also involves group facilitation and supporting individuals in connecting to wellness and recovery opportunities within their communities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. Education: Some college coursework preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Completion of, or ability to complete relevant training required for the position, such as the State of Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) Certification. Provisional CIPSS Certification may be required within 9 months of start date. Maintaining certification is required. Recovery Coach training may also be required upon hire or within 9 months of start date. A valid Driver's License and vehicle available for work, covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy, are required.
  3. Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support is preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements: Must be receiving or have received services/supports related to a history of substance use, be in active recovery, and willing to self-identify as such with peers and in the community. Computer proficiency is required.
