Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz in Aurora, CO seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist (Level I/II) for the Recovery Residences program. The role provides peer support to adult residents, helps them access treatment, and coordinates community referrals.

Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday with potential extended hours for coverage and intake support. Qualified candidates may hold CPFS/Peer certifications and must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and EHR skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED at hire.
• Preferred to possess certification as a Colorado Peer/Family Specialist or related credential.
• Experience linking patients to resources and coordinating services is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to Recovery Residence residents and engage them in activities.
• Assist with enrollment in treatment and follow-up of intake appointments.
• Help residents attend community appointments after admission.
• Facilitate community linkages as residents transition to independence.
• Coordinate to recovery support services, traveling to referral sites as needed.
• Utilize lived experience with SUD to support residents toward sobriety.
