Navigate Recovery Gwinnett is seeking an Addiction Recovery Coach-Peer Support Specialist with lived recovery experience to join our Lifeline team in Gwinnett County. The role focuses on peer-led support, mentorship, and empathy-based connections to help individuals progress on their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Two years of recovery from addiction.
• Drug testing required in the workplace.
• National criminal background check with explanation of convictions.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to connect with peers in a medical environment.
• 40 hours of Recovery Coach training (CARES) within a year of employment and maintain CEUs.
• Specialized Coach training in high-intensity environments (provided).
• On-call availability with transportation within 30 minutes of notification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and data recording.
• Represent mental wellness and healthy recovery with peers, families and professionals.
• Commitment to Navigate Recovery Gwinnett Core Values and CARES ethics.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at the hospital within 30-60 minutes of the call or CSU within the designated window.
• Provide Peer support for people in the ED, CSU, or other medical environments with overdoses or high risk.
• Interview the peer, take notes, and record information in KIPU.
• Assist the peer in filling out consent forms.
• Provide information on appropriate resources.
• Train the person/loved ones on Naloxone for possible overdoses.
• Connect with family/loved ones to offer resources.
• Serve on the Phone Coaching Team for ongoing support for a year.
• Create reports and participate in meetings to improve the program.
• Live by Navigate Recovery Gwinnett Core Values and CARES ethics.
• Participate in facilitating meetings and supporting events.
• Represent recovery in the community at all times.
• Other duties as requested.
