Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center seeks a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to assist clients in setting recovery goals and navigating care systems. You will work with Community Based Services, promoting independent living and wellness.

Requirements include being in recovery, a high school diploma, a valid Iowa driver’s license, and willingness to transport clients. Training within 90 days and state certification within 18 months are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be in recovery from a behavioral health disorder.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to direct difficult client issues.
• Valid Iowa driver's license and vehicle insurance.
• Complete Peer Support Specialist training within 90 days.
• Obtain State Certification within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Broadlawns Community Based Services staff.
• Help clients set recovery goals and navigate systems of care.
• Build skills for independent living and recovery.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain attendance.
