SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH C is hiring a Full Time Peer Recovery Support Specialist for WAVES in Mercer County. The role centers on supporting individuals in recovery from substance use disorders and helping them build meaningful connections within home and community settings.

The position leverages the staff's lived recovery experience to guide and empower others, aligning with person-centered care plans and community-based services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience of recovery from substance use disorders.
• Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience with consumers with substance use challenges.
• At least two years of sobriety are required.
• State or nationally recognized peer certification or training as required by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services (DoHS).
