Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. The RT-CRT will operate under physician orders and established policies.

Required licenses include RT in the state of practice, NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist, and BLS; ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Applicants must meet physical demands and be able to travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice; NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS certification required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and staff on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures (e.g., ABGs, EKGs).
• Provides age-appropriate care across neonatal to geriatric populations.
• Adapts communication and care to patient population and privacy requirements.
