Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS, is seeking a Pediatric Care Technician for the Pediatric/Young Adult Center, PICU and related units. This part-time role supports newborns through young adults under RN supervision, performing ADL assistance, vitals, and basic procedures.

The ideal candidate has completed relevant nursing or tech programs, possesses patient-care skills, and can communicate effectively with the care team. A backup plan for licensure and ongoing education is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Completion of first semester in an accredited nursing program, or completion of a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Office or clinic experience preferred.
• Active Kansas certification (CMA/MA/MA/CNA/EMT) may substitute for education.
• BLS certification within 90 days is required.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team to promote health and wellness.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to achieve outcomes.
• Communicates pertinent data to staff in a timely manner.
• Promotes infection prevention and standard precautions.
• Assists with activities of daily living and accurate recording of vitals.
