Qualifications

• Successful completion of first semester in an accredited nursing program or completion of a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Certifications such as Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Patient Care Technician may substitute for formal education requirements.
• Experience in an office or clinic setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary care team to promote health and wellness.
• Communicate pertinent data to staff in a timely manner.
• Promote infection prevention and proper hygiene in patient rooms.
• Assist with activities of daily living and measure vital signs.
• Schedule and coordinate lab tests, imaging, and admissions; participate in turnover between procedures.
