Job summary

Kern Medical seeks a Patient Care Technician for Pediatrics (4D) on a temporary shift. The role involves direct and indirect patient care in an inpatient setting, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with hygiene, feeding, and mobility, and documenting in the EMR.

Applicants should have CA Nursing Assistant training or equivalent nursing education, with preference for those with acute care or pediatric experience and willingness to work varying shifts. Bakersfield location.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a CA Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent education.
• UNO: or one year of an education program toward an Associate’s or Baccalaureate in Nursing.
• Two years of experience as Nursing Attendant in acute care or psychiatric SNF preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and record vital signs; monitor patient conditions and comfort.
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, mobility, and personal care needs.
• Transports patients and specimens; supports nursing staff and processes.
• Input data into the Electronic Medical Record and schedule follow-ups.
• Maintain infection control and safety procedures; respond to calls promptly.
