Job summary

Children's Health in Dallas, TX seeks a Patient Care Technician to support nurses and respiratory therapists in caring for patients from birth to 18 years. You will help with routine tasks and ensure a positive patient experience during the stay.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited nursing program and a GED or high school diploma, with BLS certification and on-site responsibilities across day shifts.

Qualifications

• Student actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for admission with equipment and supplies; assist with baths, vital signs, positioning, ambulating, waste disposal and documentation.
• May perform advanced patient care tasks as assigned by area (See addendum).
• Respond quickly to patient and family needs; maintain a safe environment and transport patients as needed within the facility.
• Assist in emergency situations by initiating BLS and participating in code cart readiness.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
