Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will document clinical information, educate patients and staff, and perform both routine and advanced therapeutic procedures.

The role requires an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred), active RRT license in the state, NBRC credential, and BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
• BLS certification; ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• Strong communication and data-entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on patient age and safety criteria.
• Adapts care to the patient population and coordinates with teams.
