Pediatric - Hospitalist opening in Cedar Rapids, IA
Position Details:
- Full-Time
- Seeking a Pediatric Nursery Hospitalist to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA
- Join an established Pediatric Hospitalist team of 4 physicians
- Additional onsite specialist support: Experienced Neonatologists team that will take the ill babies into their care.
- Schedule is an average of 14 - 12 hour shifts per month; includes 8-10 hours onsite and home call
- Weekends and Holidays on rotation
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities:
- Rotating with other Pediatric Hospitalists in inpatient pediatric care and Newborn Nursery
- No attendance at deliveries
- Average of 15-20 patients per day in the nursery
- Average of 6-8 pediatric inpatients per day
- Rounding in the Newborn Nursery: Admissions, Discharges, and Circumcisions
- Pediatric Hospitalist duties: Admissions, Discharges, rounding
- Evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Patient-focused, friendly, and collaborative team environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in Iowa
- Current and unrestricted authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
