Pediatric - Hospitalist opening in Cedar Rapids, IA

Position Details:

• Full-Time
• Seeking a Pediatric Nursery Hospitalist to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA
• Join an established Pediatric Hospitalist team of 4 physicians
• Additional onsite specialist support: Experienced Neonatologists team that will take the ill babies into their care.
• Schedule is an average of 14 - 12 hour shifts per month; includes 8-10 hours onsite and home call
• Weekends and Holidays on rotation
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities:

• Rotating with other Pediatric Hospitalists in inpatient pediatric care and Newborn Nursery
• No attendance at deliveries
• Average of 15-20 patients per day in the nursery
• Average of 6-8 pediatric inpatients per day
• Rounding in the Newborn Nursery: Admissions, Discharges, and Circumcisions
• Pediatric Hospitalist duties: Admissions, Discharges, rounding
• Evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly, and collaborative team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent work/life balance with flexible scheduling

Qualifications:

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in Iowa
• Current and unrestricted authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
