Job summary

ECU Health Physicians is a multi-specialty group with over 600 providers in more than 140 clinics across eastern North Carolina. This role handles patient registration, insurance benefits interpretation and counseling, and maintains medical terminology skills to support third-party payer regulations.

We seek candidates with at least a high school diploma, 2 years in customer service, and 1–2 years of registration/billing experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required; associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum two years of customer service experience is required.
• One to two years of registration and/or billing experience in a health care setting is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, detail orientation, organization and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration.
• Interprets and counsels on insurance benefits.
• Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations.
• Manages patient and customer relations.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
